Kishore Kumar Songs
The glittering world of Bollywood has seen millions of stars rise, shine bright, and fade back into oblivion. But nobody has been able to touch the soul and spirit of Bollywood like Kishore Kumar has been. Right back since the forties when Kishore Kumar made his Bollywood debut, the world of Indian cinema had been awestruck at his versatile personality. At one point in time in Bollywood, his awesome repertoire of skill sets made him the ‘go to’ guy for any film project, be it in singing, acting, lyrics, composing, producing, directing, etc. In fact, he was very talented and multilingual as he sang in almost eight different Indian languages throughout his career. Kishore Kumar, or Kishore da as he was fondly called, was seen throughout his career donning various hats for different kinds of works while never disappointing any of his fans. This is what truly set him apart from the rest of the directors, actors, composers or singers. It is a clear no brainer that during his career, he was the recipient of 8 filmfare awards for the playback singer category, an as yet unbroken record on its own! We all love Kishore Kumar Songs till date.

The music directors of his initial singing projects were slightly apprehensive to give chance to a young lad who was not even formally trained in the art of music. However, he clearly broke the ground with his innovative style of singing and his clearly unique voice. Everybody knows the kind of yodeling that he brought into his songs to get that zing back in the Bollywood music. His brothers were very supportive of him and they were a great onscreen hit to in his home production Chalti Ka Naam Gadi. He shared a sizzling on screen chemistry with beauty queen Madhubala in that movie, and their movie characters came alive in the song “Paanch Rupaiya Baarah Ana”. Nobody could have sung that song better than Kishore da and he single handedly brought that song and the movie in turn the success it eventually enjoyed.

Some of the best songs that he sang were with legendary Music Director S.D. Burman. It is widely believed that S.D Burman was the one who saw the hidden treasure trove of talent in the young Kishore Kumar and was chiefly responsible for providing the right platform for the meteoric rise of this young star as a singer. Together they have developed some evergreen hits like “Maana Janaab Ne Pukara Nahin” from the movie Paying Guest, “Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke” from Nau Do Gyarah, and of course the most sultry rain song of all times, “Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si” form his movie Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi.
Kishore Kumar also churned out myriads of hits with S.D Burman’s son, R. D Burman, a musical prodigy himself. Some of their works together have been regarded as being immortal in the world of music. Some of the best examples of Kishore’s greatest songs include: Roop tera mastaana form the movie Aradhana; Khaike Pan Banaras Wala from the superhit movie Don; Dil aisa kisi ne from the movie Amanush; Pag ghunghroo baandh from the blockbuster movie Namak Halaal; Saagar Kinaare from the hit movie Saagar; Hamen aur jeene ki from the movie Agar Tum Na Hote.
