“Namastey London”, the Bollywood movie might seem to be a mix of ‘Purab and Pachim’ and ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. Yet, the story and the movie is good to watch. It’s a perfect combination of love, humor and drama. Vipul Shah has a new story to tell this time with Namastey London. The movie has a patriotic touch with Akshay Kumar playing the role of a model Indian farmer guy. Katrina was bought up in London by her dad played by Rishi Kappor. The two come down to India as Rishi wants to wants an eligible Indian to marry his daughter. Akshay takes the challenge and tries to beat her British boyfriend any finally Akshay marries Katrina. The story begins after this and how this British girl lives as a farmer’s wife.

Songs of Namastey London

Being set in a Punjabi background, the Namastey London songs have a typical Punjabi music in the main score mixed well with other generes. It is the best that you could expect from a combination of Javed Akhtar and Himesh Reshammiya. ‘Chakna Chakna’ is a Punjabi track with a Sufi touch sung by Himmesh Reshammiya. Might sound a bit out of the way, but the song is a hit on the charts. The pure bhangra remix is a better one than the original at Songs.pk. For the heart broken ones, there is ‘Viraaniya’ with great lyrics that will sure make you cry. Even this sad song has two remix versions. ‘Main Jahan Rahoon’ is a classic one by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan that’s a flows, swirls and turns and you would sure be captured into its essence. The ghazal ‘Yehi Hota Pyar’ has proved that Himmesh is a versatile music director. Yet, you can listen to a Himesh masterpiece ‘Annan Faanan’ with his favorite singer Jayesh Gandhi.
