Stars break their own promise

Star campaigners for political parties who urged the public to vote day and night on television, Bill boards, and rallies and preached democracy for some reason forgot to cast their own vote on the big day.

While superstars of the tinsel town Aamir Khan and Sharukh Khan flew back to India from abroad to cast their vote, some actors like Salman Khan found it impossible to fly from London as he was shooting for his latest film Veer. Deepika Pudukone, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor who were all a part of the promotional video failed to cast their own votes.

Apparently, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali khan were busy shooting for their film on New York though if rumors are to be believed they will be taking out time to go on a vacation in Italy. Similarly, Preity Zinta chose to stay with her team in South Africa. Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor who were indeed in town during voting did not bother showing up to cast their vote. Deepika Padukone was also missing from the voting booth even after she claimed how excited and eager she was about casting the vote.

Bipasha Basu was also amongst the non-voters but boyfriend John Abraham not only made sure he cast his vote but also, according to sources, he helped an old lady reach the booth. A media gimmick? Not really, said the other voters who witnessed the selfless gesture.
