Mera Pind is literally translates to My Home. It is a Punjabi movie made in 2008 by Manmohan Singh, who is a renowned director of Punjabi films.
Plot:
Mera Pind is the touching and well written story about a prosperous NRI Navroz Singh Lamba, who chooses to come back to his homeland and to settle in his ancestral village in Punjab. He tries very sincerely to spread the awareness about the empowerment of the youth by means of entrepreneurship. Led by a young boy called Himmat; the youth spark off a revolution in the village and start making tremendous progress in its development. This further motivates Punjabis who would usually opt to settle abroad, to start businesses in their own villages instead. Mera Pind combines a gentle romantic track, with a zealous track of how the youth defend their land against land grabbing thugs while simultaneously revealing a Punjab that awakens to modernity.
