Starring the real-life Bollywood family of Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, “Apne” tells the story of family relations. The 3 hour long Bollywood movie has boxing as its backdrop which will make you move towards the edge of your seats biting your nails. Dharmendra in the movie is a boxing champion and an Olympic silver medalist. He aspires to become India’s first World Heavyweight Boxing Champion but due to doping conspiracies, he is banned from boxing. He then later tries to make his dream come true through his elder son Sunny Deol (Angad). But Sunny has a different outlook towards life and was not interested in boxing. The younger one Bobby Deol (Karan) is a musician but later gets in to boxing to fulfill his father’s dream.

Songs of Apne

With a never before star cast, much was expected from the Apne songs. Himesh Reshammiya kick starts the first song of the album with the number ‘Mehfuz’ with jazzy rock beats. The remix version seems almost the same with just a few beats more added. The next song at songs.pk is ‘Dekhoo Tujhe’ which is typical Himesh romance song with the same repeating rhythm. As expected, the song has a remix version which is groovy styled without loosing the feel of the song. The title track ‘Apne’ has been sung by Sonu Nigam and Jaspinder Narula that says the values of family and relations. The tune is new and fresh and worth listening to even though it is too long. With all three Deol’s in the movie, a Punjabi number is a must and this expectation has been well kept by ‘Ankh vich’ and its remix version. ‘Bull’s Eye’ is for the rockers with its western music.
