The old style of running behind in forests and the like is hated by the audience. Director Imtiaz Ali has come up with a new edition of bollywood movie love story for the present generation. Shahid and Kareena Kapoor combination has worked the on-screen chemistry very well making the viewer involve in the movie and feel it real and appealing. Shahid is an industrialist who has a love failure and leaves everything and goes astray. On his way he meets Kareena who is returning to her home who tells him her plans of eloping with her boyfriend. Circumstances make then get off the train and they are left on the streets. After a long struggle, they reach her home in Punjab. Her family mistakes them to be lovers. She then elopes with her boyfriend and he goes his way. Her family later finds him and asks for her. He then goes searching for her.
