Maine Pyar Kiya is the story of Suman (Bhagyashree) who lives in a small town with her father Karan (Alok Nath). When Karan decides to travel to Dubai to accumulate wealth for his daughter marriage, he decides to leave his daughter with his childhood friend Kishen Kumar choudhury (Rajiv Verma), wife Mrs. Kaushalya (Reema Lagoo). Kishen Kumar choudhury’s foreign return son Prem(Salman Khan) falls in love with the simple and homely Suman. Though prem’s mother is happy about this relation, prem’s father is not, and asks Sumanto get out of his house and life.

Karan returs to find his daughter insulted and an enraged father takes his daughter back to his town. Prem decides to leave home and pacify Suman’s father to marry her. Angry father disapproves prem’s love for Suman and ask him to prove his love for suman by earning money at his own stand. A romantic love story, full of love and hatred changed the picture of romantic cinema forever.
